Shoes

Shoes are important when going to work, and even more important when traveling for work. Being uncomfortable at work is the last thing you need to be concerning you. Be sure to bring at least 2-3 pairs of shoes.

They should include a pair of flats, a pair of heels, and a pair of sandals (affiliate links). If three is too many, just leave your sandals at home, bring your heels, and work flats. Make sure your flats are comfortable to travel in. If not, pack in some slippers and change them when you land!

Tops

When packing for a work trip, it is important to know how long you will be traveling for to pack enough tops for the entire trip. The trick to packing for a business trip is simple, you can switch up your tops and recycle pants and that can save room for other items to be packed.

Your tops should include, but not be limited to long and short sleeves.

Be sure to look up the weather in the area you are traveling to, to know which one you should pack more. You should also bring tops that do not wrinkle as easy, since they will be in luggage you do not want to have the hassle of worrying about ironing certain items.

Also, always have a blazer and sweater on hand – you never know when you’ll need it!

Dresses

Dresses are simple when packing for a business trip. You do not have to worry about pairing them with a bottom, which saves you from a headache. Be sure to pack a dress that can go with flats or heels you also plan on bringing.

Play it safe and pack a dress that is solid in color, mid-arm or long sleeve, and easy to pair your accessories with. Also, keep in mind to pack a dress that’s easy to put on, trying to zip up a dress alone can be stressful, and you don’t want to chance it by breaking the zipper.

Bottoms

If you have an itinerary of what your day will look like while out of town on business, that will help tremendously. If you know there might be a fun team-building event, then be sure to pack a pair of jeans that you can pair with your flats and nice top you brought.

On the other hand, if you will be in the office most of the time, pack some slacks and skirts that you know will go well with your other packed items. It is better to pack a solid black pair of slacks, so you do not have to worry about matching, and accidents. As for your jeans, opt for a classic style, no holes in your jeans!

Accessories

Be sure to pack your most important accessories. That could be anything including belts, jewelry and most importantly a purse or clutch. Be sure to pack a belt that is universal with all your outfits!

That way you can save room while still looking cute. In addition, when packing your jewelry it is important to pack light in the department.  The worst feeling in the world is losing jewelry or forgetting it in the hotel room.
