How to Apply False Lashes

False lashes have been such a wave in today’s beauty world that we don’t think they are going anywhere any time soon. Having lashes makes a world of difference to a person’s face.

Without them, some may feel naked, and with them, you can’t tell a person nothing. Lashes, just like perfect brows, compliment the face! Check out this article on how to apply false lashes and we promise you will never turn back!

Applying false eyelashes can be tricky!
Unfortunately, strip lashes aren’t one-size-suits-all. It can be pretty difficult to determine which lashes are best for you, but it is simple to find the ideal lash type for your eye shape. Grab your favorite bevy (even if that includes water) and note these handy hacks for applying them so they look natural, and more importantly, last for more then just one use.

Sometimes, lashes can flatten once you remove them from the box and therefore pop up at the inner or outer corners once applied. It can be annoying, so be mindful to carefully handle the lashes once purchased.  To avoid this, roll the lashes around your finger, a makeup brush, pen or cotton bud and leave for a minute – this will help them remain more curved in shape.

First, check out these eye shapes to determine how best you can apply your lashes:
  • Almond eyes are considered the suit-all strip lash eye shape (this is when your irises disappear into your upper and lower eyelids when you look straight ahead).
  • Deep-set eyes: when your eyes are set deeper into the head, creating an illusion of a more prominent brow bone. Try lashes that are longer in length at the center of the lashes.
  • Downturned eyes: when the outer corners of the eyes appear to be drawing downwards. Try a shorter strip lash that is longer in the outer corners to lift your eyes.
  • Hooded eyes: when the crease on your eyelid isn’t visible. Try a thin strip lash in a shorter length.
  • Prominent eyes: when your eyelids appear projected in the eye socket area. Try balancing your top lashes with strip lashes on the bottom, too, which will give the illusion of pushing back your eyes.

Now, to apply the lashes:
Try this trick: Hold the lashes in the packet under your nose with the lashes facing outwards. This beauty hack will identify the left and right lashes, as they’re not always marked.

Always peel the lashes from the outer edge of the pack—never from the inner corner. This is because if you bend one section of lashes on the outside it doesn’t matter as it’s more than likely you’ll be trimming them off to fit your eyes anyway. If you bend or break the lash from the inner corner, it matters! Gently tease the lashes out using your fingers or tweezers

The strip should start where your natural bulk of eyelashes begin. Dot a thin layer of glue straight from the adhesive applicator, of if you have a specific glue preference, you may use that! You must apply the glue of your choice along the vein of the lash, from corner to corner.

It is important to not feel rushed and wait a few seconds before applying. If you place the lashes too close to the center of your eye, it may cause irritation, so be mindful.

Another beauty hack that can help prolong your false lashes is to apply mascara.

Using mascara on your natural lashes prior to applying the strip lets you pinch and push your natural lashes and the false lashes together so they set better together and blend.

Squeeze the strip lashes down onto the natural lashes so you don’t end up with a strip of skin between your natural eyelashes and the false eyelashes. Carefully use eyelash tweezers or simply your fingertips.

Take a look and the mirror and be delighted as you have successfully applied strips of lashes! If you want to create more uplift with your lashes, finish by gently pushing against the lashes at the edge of the inner lash line. This will give you that ideal look!
