How to Handle Unexpected Zits

When something happens unexpectedly we usually aren’t prepped to take care of it in the moment. In fact, most situations after we’ve carefully considered the issue, a solution is thought of and implemented. Unwanted pimples can be considered an unexpected event. We usually don’t plan on them showing up, and when they do come, it’s always at the wrong time!  Thanks to the CGS squad coming up with a quick solution to getting rid of that awful, unexpected zit won’t be as difficult as it used to be! We’re sharing 4 ways to handle unexpected zits and stop them in their tracks!

Handle unexpected zits by…

Eating Less Grease

When we can’t see our insides, but sometimes what we eat is reflected on the outside. What we mean is, when we eat a lot of greasy food, we do not notice the harmful effects it has on our body. Pizza, burritos, and fried chicken are all very tasty, but the grease within doesn’t sit well with our bodies. So when we break out unexpectedly, it’s because what we eat plays a huge role on how our skin appears. You are what you eat, so flushing your system out and drinking plenty of water will help avoid getting those unexpected zits.

Avoiding Stress

When we stress out our bodies go into overdrive mode, which leads to the overproduction of sebum and the clogging of pores. Pimples usually appear unexpectedly when the two of those functions happen simultaneously. When you feel you’re about to stress, simply stop what you’re doing and take a few minutes to breathe and calm yourself down. Stress has detrimental consequences to a person’s health, not just causing pimples to appear out of nowhere. Stressing doesn’t benefit the body in any way, so avoid falling into its grasp! Avoid having to handle unexpected zits by breathing through stressful situations.

Trying an Over the Counter Cream

Pimples can come and go in the same day, so why not get the stuff that helps kick those pimples’ butt? Over the counter creams and facial products are great for handling unexpected pimples. Depending on your skin type, consult with your dermatologist on which creams are best for you. One simple way to treat a breakout is to head to your local drugstore and pick up a cream or gel that includes benzoyl peroxide as its prime ingredient. After applying any over the counter acne remover, make sure to hydrate your skin regularly, as these harsh chemicals can dry your skin out. Dryness can cause your skin to produce even more oil, as a natural defense, and lead to more breakouts.

Exfoliating Consistently

Exfoliating helps your skin breathe and avoid break outs because you are scrubbing away dead skin cells that can clog your pores. We’ve always been told to wash and moisturize our face, but it’s easy to leave out exfoliating. When you exfoliate, you are giving your pores a thorough clean and refresh.  You can exfoliate once a day or once a week, depending on how quickly your pores get clogged. All acne starts with clogged and dirty pores, so handle unexpected zits by exfoliating on a consistent basis. St. Ives Apricot Face Scrub is one of the best exfoliators in the market.
