When you’re in your 20s, the focus is on building a career, saving money for the next level of living, and having fun. Where does protecting your skin and anti-aging come in? Just like your bank account, right now is the time to start prepping your skin for the future! The CGS Team recently came across an article on Career Girl Daily that shows you how to do so, and we had to share. Career Girl Daily picked the brains of a trained facialist. Check out 5 things you should do for your skin now to help the inevitable aging process.
Cleanse gently
“There are so many harsh cleansers out there, I’ve known girls to buy unbranded cleansers in order to save money, but it’s better to give your skin the best treatment. Your skin doesn’t need its natural oils stripping, so it’s always better to find a cleanser that works. Every cleanser works differently but really, try a super gentle cleanser like the totally cool clay cleanser from Bare Minerals that changes color as you massage it.”
Moisturize properly
“The one thing that will give your skin bounce in the years to come is a good moisturizer. Caudalie’s Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet is my current favorite.”
Hydrate while you apply
“My biggest tip would be to apply a few drops of Oskia Restoration Oil to your beauty blender when you apply your foundation. It’s a total game-changer because it means every time you apply your makeup, which is usually daily for most girls, you are hydrating and locking in moisture too.”
Always use sunscreen
“The sun will age you! I don’t know how many times I have to repeat that, but it’s true. I mean, a little sun here and there is good for you but you should use sunscreen on your face if you want to be ageless as you get older. This generation is much more aware of the effects of sun than the previous one, we’re less likely to go on a sunbed and I think that you all know how to take care of your skin quite well, but don’t take unnecessary risks in the sun if you want to stay young and healthy.”
Take supplements
“Another thing this generation is great for is the knowledge about health foods and a balanced diet. We always see people who love inventive and delicious food. Who can substitute spaghetti for courgette but twenty-somethings? I love it. Another thing they know about is the power of supplements. I recommend Perricone MD Superberry Supplements if you want to have radiant skin that lasts until you’re 80.”
You will never be younger than you are right now in this very moment, so do what you can to protect your skin and keep it as youthful as possible.
