8 Beauty Rituals to Start Now

The CGS Team has gathered 8 beauty rituals you should think about forming now, instead of later. Starting these beauty rituals now can make a positive difference in your health and beauty in the future.

The funny thing about habits is that once you actually start doing things consistently (whether good or bad), it eventually becomes second nature and you do them without even thinking twice. There are some beauty rituals to start forming now, that way you can avoid negative side effects later.

Rituals as simple as applying moisturizer every day to avoid dry skin, or brushing your teeth before bed to dodge those annoying cavities, can make for major long-term effects. Now, let’s dive into 8 beauty rituals to start forming now.

Waking up Earlier

Waking up earlier is healthy for your digestive system, mind, and physical physique. You should get enough rest each night to be able to wake up and feel rested.

Each morning you should wake up with enough time (roughly an hour and thirty mins before you have to be on your way to where you need to go) to get ready without being rushed. The earlier you get up, the more productive you can be in your day.

Squeezing in the things you’d like to do, along with what you need to do, is ideal for any multitasker. Check out a few ways to use your newfound time in the morning.

Drinking Lemon Water

Water is phenomenal for you and you should drink at least 8-10 glasses a day to keep you hydrated. Water is important for numerous reasons, but drinking it with lemon will help with your metabolism and give it great taste.

Implementing this will definitely get your energy up too! You have to keep in mind that your body has been asleep for some time and will need some hydrating.  A glass in the morning is a great way to get your body going and waking up efficiently.

If you want additional flavor some honey can do just the trick and still give the same results.

Being Intentional

If you aren’t familiar with being intentional, it’s important you get familiar with it as soon as possible. Every morning when you wake up, give yourself purpose. Set your intention for the day.

What will you accomplish? What will you be great at? Compliment things about yourself. Many great philosophers and well-known celebrities have incorporated being intentional into their daily routines.

You can be intentional any time of the day; morning, noon or night! So, why not put into action kind, beautiful, intentional deeds for yourself?

Cleaning your tongue

Who wants to walk around with stinky breath?! I sure don’t and I hope you don’t either!

Cleaning your tongue may seem like a routine you do now, but instead of cleaning it with just your toothbrush, try using a tool made specifically for your tongue. Taking the time to scrape your tongue each morning will help avoid bacteria from building inside of your mouth.

The tool can be plastic or stainless steel, and it helps get rid of that morning breath and leaves your mouth feeling clean and fresh.

Stretching
Stretching before you get up and before you go to bed helps start and end your day in a wholesome way. Stretching for just 5 minutes a day can help with evading everyday injuries.

When you stretch in the morning, it helps to wake your muscles up and get them prepped for the active day you may have ahead. Being flexible is awesome, and you will soon notice that each day you’ll find yourself a little more flexible than the day before.

It doesn’t matter how long you stretch, just as long as you get some in!

Dry brushing your body

The thought of brushing your skin can seem kind of strange, but it’s actually a great form of improving your circulation. You won’t be needing the same brush you use for your hair, so throw that thought out immediately.

Choose a brush that’s great for exfoliating skin. One that isn’t too rough on your skin—a dry loofah would be ideal.

Brushing your body leaves your skin feeling smoother, and removes all the dead skin cells that have accumulated over time. Once you are done exfoliating your skin, apply a light lotion to seal in the moisture.

Applying Sunscreen

Sunscreen is so vital to the health of our skin! It doesn’t matter if the sun is out or playing hide-and- seek behind the clouds. UV rays are powerful, regardless.

Sunscreens should be applied to not just your face but any part of the skin that is exposed to the sun rays. A little can go a long way and applying sun screen will help you steer clear of skin diseases later in life.

There are so many different types of sunscreen out there, so there’s absolutely no reason to skip it. Regardless of your skin type, there is a sunscreen out there for you. Learn more about SPF and sunscreen.

Taking vitamins

Vitamins should be part of everyone’s diet. It’s better to start taking vitamins as early as possible, to avoid a vitamin deficiency.

Before taking vitamins, first check with your doctor and see where your vitals are and if any of your vitamin levels are low. It’s important to check with your primary care physician about your vitamin levels so you know how much of each vitamin your body needs.

Everyone’s body is different and some lack vitamins that others don’t. Vitamins help us stay healthy and functional, so taking them sooner and implementing into your everyday life is a recipe for success.
