Mindset is critical for financial success, or any success for that matter. How you think about the decisions you make and the things that come your way determines how you make act accordingly. If your mindset isn’t in the right place, you may do things that hurt your situation. On the contrary, if your mindset about your finances is a positive one, you may reach your goals faster than expected.
In the video below, I’m going to walk you through my thoughts on why mindset is so important for any type of success, the right mindset to have when dealing with your finances, and how your mistakes can set you back longer than you think. My goal is that by the end of the video you will understand why mindset is critical for financial success.
I’m a naturally positive person, most of the time, and I’ve had the ability to see how my negative and positive mindset impacts my situation. When my mind is negative, negative things tend to keep on happening. When my mindset is positive, I focus on the good. If something bad does happen, it doesn’t effect me as much when my mindset is positive-focused.
If you are looking to change your mindset when it comes to your financial situation, it’s important to remember that financial freedom is not an overnight process. Thinking about financial freedom in terms of how long it will take you to get there is not the right mindset. Accepting that great things take time and work will make it easier for you to continue on that journey to financial freedom.

If your mindset isn’t exactly where you want it to be, the good news is that you can make a change. You can choose to start thinking positively about your situation and all of the great things that can come with being financially free. You can choose to focus on the things that will help you get where you want to go, instead of focusing on how long it will take. You can choose to be intentional and purposeful with your purchases, instead of thinking “YOLO”. It all starts with a choice!
There is a part 2 to the video above that really dives into the power of positive thinking and certain things you can do to help shift your mindset (around finances and life in general).
