Take advantage of your country! Check out USA cities to see in fall! Who doesn’t like a nice vacation away from home and work? When time and cash flow permits, the CGS Team suggests that everyone travel. New sites, new cultures and new experiences; you never know what you can find!
One of the most beautiful times of the year is fall. Orange, red and yellow colors, cool winds, and a genuine feeling of happiness. The CGS Team is sharing some of the best cities in the United States to visit during the fall months. If you have the option to getaway or if any of these cities are close to you, now is the perfect time to visit!
San Francisco
If you enjoy big cities, San Francisco in the fall is for you! From a wide variety of events including the Ghiradelli Chocolate Festival and the International Dragon Boat Festival, San Francisco has something for everyone. Did you know that fall is almost considered to be summer-time in the city? The fall months come with warm sunshine and clear skies. Staying warm and enjoying the colors of autumn can easily be achieved in San Francisco.
Chicago
The Windy City is a perfect fall destination. During the early fall months, the air gets cooler and leaves change colors which gives visitors a true feel of autumn. Similar to San Francisco, Chicago offers great festivals in the fall. The Hyde Park Jazz Festival and the Great Chicago Fire Festival are just a few available in the fall. Thanks to the city’s diversity, you’ll be able to experience a wide range of cultures including Greek, Polish, and Italian.
Salt Lake City
Do you love to hike or be outdoors? Salt Lake City in the fall offers its visitors a beautiful autumn rainbow of foliage. Hiking or driving along the Cottonwood Canyons would be ideal. In addition to the beautiful colors of leaves, trees and shrubbery, Salt Lake City in the fall is cheaper than any other time of the year and offers a smaller crowd. We can’t forget to mention Snowbird’s Oktoberfest! Get your fill of beer at the event that lasts nearly two months.
New York City
The city that never sleeps! Traveling to the Big Apple, you’ll get to experience a one-of-a-kind place full of vibrant culture and trendy crowds. While New York City is a year round destination, there’s something about seeing the city in the fall that must be experienced. Thanks to the black tupelo trees, NYC’s Central Park gets covered in red leaves during the autumn season. Combine that with the sweater-necessary winds, you have the ultimate fall destination.
Louisville, KY
There is something for everyone in Louisville, KY during the fall! September is National Bourbon Heritage Month, where the city celebrates providing a third of the world’s bourbon whiskey. If you prefer non-alcoholic adventures, a stroll through Iroquois Park will provide a stunning selection of autumn colored foliage. Lastly, the city’s annual Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular takes place in October and features over 5,000 carved pumpkins.
Boston
Another city for those who love the feel of fall is Boston. From the cozy nature of popular bookstores, to classic city vibes, Boston serves as a well-appreciated fall destination. Brookline Booksmith and other bookstores in the city have an increased number of events. A walk through Harvard’s Arnold Arboretum offers scenic outdoor views. In the November, Boston Common’s Frog Pond opens up for visitors to enjoy outdoor ice-skating activities.
Providence
Halloween in Providence is a must-see experience! The streets turn into live performances and art exhibits thanks to the Vortex Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror Film Festival, along with the Street Yard event. During the day, eye-catching foliage steals the scene. At night the city’s bonfire along the river, WaterFire, lights up the night well into October. The city may be one of the smallest in the country, but it serves as one of the top spots for fall travel!
