Turn Your Idea Into a Business

Do you have a great idea or business concept in mind, but don’t know where to begin? The CGS Team is sharing a few tips to help you turn your idea into a full-on business! It might be a little risky, but the rewards can far succeed the risk, if you’re really in it! Confidence in your idea will take you and your business a long way.

Ditch the Fear

One of the main reasons why people never start the business of their dreams is the fear of failure. When you let go of the fear of “what if”, you can focus on making your business the best. No one knows what the future holds. What if your business fails? On the contrary, what if your business is a huge success? Ditch the fear and dive in! In fact, fear is one of the 8 excuses for not starting a business!

Are You Really In It?

We mentioned above that the reward can far succeed the risk if you’re really in it. So what does “really in it” mean? It means that you are ready to give your business 100%! You are committed to your idea and you are willing to put in the work to make it a success. If you’re not committed, you’ll never get around to giving your business a shot. Do Your Research

Your idea, product or service may be great, but what makes it different? What does your business have that others don’t? Do the research on your potential competitors, and see where your business could fill in a gap. If your business isn’t different from your competitors, what can you do to make it better? Can you provide the product or service at a lower price? Can you make it more accessible? Understanding how you can set yourself apart from your competition is very important.

Ask Around

After you’ve done your research, ask your family and friends for their thoughts. Do you have a mentor or businesswoman you admire? Ask for their opinion on your business idea. Share the results of your research to support your business idea. Take whatever advice or opinions they give you with open ears. The goal is not to sell them on your idea, but to get their genuine feedback. This will help give you an open mind when moving forward.

Don’t Be Afraid to Seek Help

When you get around to starting your business, don’t be afraid to solicit help! Get yourself an intern who can assist in areas that you may be weaker at. Utilize your social media network to find people in the same field, or who can provide assistance you may be lacking. Check out the business resources for some initial guidance on where to begin.

Be Your Own Brand Ambassador

When you’re first starting your business, no one will be convinced of it as much as you! Don’t be afraid to share your vision and spread the word. Start getting used to talking about your business. You never know who will be listening, or who could offer some good words of advice.

Get ready for some hard work, some ups and downs, and some haters! It takes a strong person to start a business and make it succeed. Trials and tribulations will come in all shapes and sizes, so believe in yourself and your idea! Confidence is key!
