Having a nontraditional Valentine’s Day will not only be memorable, it’ll be exciting!

Creative Valentine’s day date ideas…

Take a Cooking Class

The way to anyone’s heart has got to be through his or her stomach. How much fun would it be for you and your loved one to share a night of cooking, laughing, and eating! Taking a cooking class can be romantic. Helping your partner cut, prep, and taste each other’s creation is one creative date that should not be over looked. Groupon is a great way to find affordable cooking classes that you and your beau can enjoy.

Overnight Back Packing

When the outdoors is your second home, why not do an overnight packing trip for Valentine’s Day? Grab your sleeping bags, camp food, and flashlights and you’re all set! Quality time in the great outdoors is amazing! A night under the stars, with a fire keeping you warm definitely sets the tone for a romantic night. So grab your favorite person in the world and hit the road, this Valentine’s date is one for the books.

Wine & DIY Projects

Whenever wine is thrown into the mix, you can be sure there’s going to be some fun involved. If there’s a specific project that you’ve kept putting off around the house, turn it into something fun. Pick the perfect wine for the occasion! DIY projects can sometimes get boring alone, turning it to a date night with food, drinks, and music can change the whole vibe!

Have your tools prepped in advance for your project so you won’t have to stop in the middle of your fun to run to the store. Knocking two birds out with one stone, turn your tunes on and just spend quality time with your babe.

Rent an Airbnb

Airbnb is the best home away from home. In most cases they’re even cheaper than having to stay at a hotel. In case you didn’t know, Airbnb is an online marketplace and homestay network enabling people to list or rent short-term lodging in residential properties, with the cost of the accommodation set by the property owner.

Download the app in the apple store and choose where you’d like to stay and…. viola, your new home awaits. Airbnb is affordable, and can adjust to your financial needs while still having the time of your life. If you want to have a staycation or visit a city nearby for Valentine’s Day, consider Airbnb before a hotel!

Volunteer

Whether you love the animals, or love the community, why not share your love by volunteering at your favorite shelter? Giving back is great, and Valentines is all about spreading the love. If your darling is huge on giving back, this with definitely knock their socks off.

Local pet shelters are always looking for volunteers to help with feeding and taking care of pets, contact your nearest shelter and see how you and your honey can help for the day. You may just walk away from the shelter as new parents to a puppy or kitty!

Valentine’s Day doesn’t always have to be traditional. Keep the spice between you and your sweetie alive by switching things up! Doing new things will be exciting and memorable. Don’t stay in your bubble of cards and flowers this year!  How creative have you been when it comes to V-Day? 1. I love the creativity (and cost-effectiveness) of the ideas in the article “5 Creative Valentine’s Day Date Ideas”! What do you all have planned for Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Day?! @bekka-hohenboken @sara-kettering @mtfoster123 @rachelnbr @lnail23 @samanta-jovanovic @beaudoin0416

    1. I’m hosting a Galentine’s party at my apartment tonight! And doing so on a budget 😉 We hit up the dollar section at Target for some adorable decor and got Trader Joe’s amazing wine for only $2 per bottle!
